New exhibition in the lazaretto

New exhibition in the lazaretto on the Irish presence in 1847; historic furnishings and artefacts await for you.

Practical info

Clothing

We advise you to always bring an item of warm clothing with you whenever you come to Grosse Île.
We also suggest that you wear hiking boots or sneakers for greatest comfort.
Finally, plan on brining an umbrella and rain gear in the event of a shower. Most activities are held outdoors.

Souvenir shop

The site is home to a souvenir shop, where you'll find a selection of books, apparel, postcards and other items related to the quarantine station. You can bring home some object that recalls your confinement in quarantine.

Cafeteria

From June 24 to September 7, a sandwich counter-style cafeteria is open inside the third-class hotel.
Picnic tables are also available on the site. If you prefer eating indoors, there's room inside the third-class hotel where you can do so.

Hall reservation

If you would like to hold an out-of-the-ordinary conference or meeting, consider reserving a hall in one of the historic buildings. These rooms can accommodate between 20 and 50 people.
